Product Description
This is for a fully translated version of Super Mario Brothers 2 Japan. It was originally going to be the sequel to Super Mario Brother's here in the states, but it was deemed to "Hard" for Americans. Thus the game "Doki Doki Panic" in Japan, was translated and edited and became what we know today as Super Mario Brothers 2. This is the True sequel to Super Mario Brothers 2.

The real deal, the real Super Mario 2

This is one of those sequels which look like an expansion, but at the same time there are a lot of differences present.
I remember renting a bootleg of this game from the video store, at the beginning it doesn't look that hard, but as you progress, man, is this hard. You gotta love the wind and the leaves...
With so many twisted elements, I can understand why it wasn't released in America.
Thanks gamereproductions.com for allowing me to play this on real hardware again and relive those memories.

This is probably the best place for repros on the net. At first I was hesitant about sending my money to some website that I knew nothing about. After a month passed I received the repro in the mail and I must say it looks just like the real thing. It is SO FREAKIN AMAZING to see Nintendo games actually being made in this day and age. Buy from this site and you will be amazed to.

Perhaps the most infamous game to have never been released in America in its original form, Super Mario Bros 2: Japanese Version has quite a story behind it, and plays basically like an expansion pack for the original classic. The difficulty starts where the original game left off and continues from there to total insanity! I can beat SMB1 with little trouble from beginning to end, but this game is nearly impossible, so hard that I think Nintendo actually made a wise move in waiting to release it here. Unfortunately, it was never released in America as it was originally intended. Many versions have removed the secret levels and/or the new graphics, and even made the game easier! This is the true, original SMB2. Just remember, it's not for everyone.
