This is for a English version of Final Fantasy II for the NES. This came from the original English Prototype.

When going into this game, One has to realize that the game hasnt been fully translated to its full potential(as you can see by the video). Its only a prototype, so it hasnt been fully polished and touched up on. Square pretty much just did a bare bones translation. Nintendo of America hadnt yet localized it. That doesnt mean the game is unplayable though. In certain parts of the game, The translation is even better than that of the neo demiforce version. The leveling system is completely different than the previous installment. This isnt necessarily a good thing. Its a bit harder to get used to. The more you use a weapon, the stronger it becomes. Its the same with magic. You have to use each individual magic spell 100 times before it levels up. So get ready for some serious grinding. The game has gotten some flack for this new system(which consequently was the last time that its ever been used in a Final Fantasy game). There is a glitch in the game, which enables you to trick the system into thinking youve used a weapon or magic spell a certain amount of times(look it up online, you'll see what i mean). So all is not lost. Its really not that bad, once you get a handle of it. I just finished the game and i really enjoyed it. It gave me everything that i could ask for in a classic old school rpg. Its got a great story, hours and hours of gameplay, and characters that you feel for. So if you look past all the little flaws in the game, you'll see that there was some serious potential in this second installment. a real shame it wasnt released when it originally was suppose to. For anybody looking for a good adventure, pick it up. it'll be sure to please.
